BonllDB Manager Licensing SEISMIC EVALUATION REPORT USI A-46 RESOLUTION - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - DUE DATE EXTENSION On May 23, 1995, Consumers Energy submitted the Summary Report in response to Generic Letter 87-02, "Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating Reactors, Unresolved Safety Issue (USI) A-46." On May 31, 1996, a request for additional information (RAI) was received. Consumers Energy responded by letter dated September 27, 1996. On June 19, 1997 a second RAI was received.
The June 19, 1997 RAI requires a response within 90 days from the date of the NRC letter. However, due to ongoing discussions between the NRC and the SQUG Steering Committee concerning generic issues, Consumers Energy requested an extension of the response due date to November 14, 1997. The due date extension was granted by the NRC Project Manager, Robert G. Schaaf, per a telephone conversation with Dale Engle of Consumers Energy on September 3, 1997. The purpose of this letter is to docket the change in the due date of the response to the RAI.
