PALISADES PLANT - NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONDUCT DESIGN INSPECTION
Dear Mr. Palmisano:
The purpose of this letter is to inform you.of our plans to conduct a design inspection of the Palisades nuclear facility.
R~cent NRC in.sp_ections at nuclear power reactor facilities have identified numerous findings where the plant configuration or operations were inconsistent with the design basis, licensing basis,* or the fi*nal safety analysis report. Therefore, the NRC has decided to perform design inspections at nuclear.'power reactor facilities utilizing
-Inspection Procedure 93801, "Safety System Functional Inspection." Two systems will be selected for re.view during*the inspection.
