Palmisano Site Vice President June 2, 1997 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 87-07, "INFORMATION TRANSMITTAL OF FINAL RULEMAKING FOR REVISIONS TO OPERATOR LICENSING -10 CFR 55 AND CONFORMING AMENDMENTS" Generic Letter 87-07, "Information Transmittal of Final Rulemaking for Revisions to Operator Licensing - 10 CFR 55 and Conforming Amendments", issued March 19, 1987, discusses the option of substituting an accredited training program for initial and requalification training programs previously approved by the NRC. It also requests certification that the programs are accredited and based on a systems approach to training.
The purpose of this letter is to provide written notification to the NRC of Palisades intent to utilize an accredited training program to meet the requirements of Sections 55.31 (a) and 55.59(c) of 10 CFR 55.
It is understood that this option may be implemented upon written notification to the NRC and does not require staff review.
