PALISADES PUBLIC MEETING AT NRC Riii OFFICES
Dear Mr. Palmisano :
This letter confirms the discussion between Mr. J. A. Grobe of the NRC and Mr. S. T. Wawro of your staff to conduct, in a public meeting, a predecisional enforcement conference regarding two apparent programmatic problems involving multiple violations in the conduct of operations and maintenance areas. The programmatic problems and apparent violations were described in report 50-255/97014(DRS) which was issued to you on December 12, 1997. The meeting is scheduled on Friday, December 19, 1997, at 1 :00 pm. (CST) at the NRC Riii offices located in Lisle, Illinois.
The purpose of the predecisional enforcement conference is to obtain information to enable the NRC to make an enforcement decision, such as a common understanding of the facts, root causes, *missed opportunities to identify the apparent violations, corrective actions, significance of the issues, and the need for lasting and effective corrective action. This meeting is open to the public.
We will gladly discuss any questions you may have concerning this matter.
