NRC EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-
255/96013(DRS)
Dear Mr. Palmisano:
On October 25, 1996, the NRC completed an inspection at the Palisades Nuclear
Generating Plant. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and observation of activities in progress. The purpose of the
. inspection effort was to determine whether activities authorized. by the license were
conducted safely and in accordance with NRC requirements. The summary contained in
the report provides an overview of our assessment of your performance in the area of
Emergency Preparedness, an aspect of Plant Support.
This inspection was to perform the evaluation of your biennial emergency, exercise as
identified in NRC Inspection Procedure 82301, and to review the status of previous open
inspection findings. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with
those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
No violations of NRC requirements were noted in the areas inspected .
