Bordine Manage.r, Licensing REPLY TO GENERl.C LETIER 96 PERIODIC VERIFICATION OF DESIGN-BASIS CAPABILITY OF SAFETY-RELATED MOTOR-OPERATED VALVES This letter provides the requested sixty-day reply to Generic Letter 96-05, "Periodic Verification of Design-Basis Capability of Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valves".
Palisades will implement the identified actions requested in the generic letter. The current program will be reviewed to ensure its effectiveness in verifying, on a periodic basis, that safety-related motor-operated valves (MOV) will continue to be capable of performing their safety functions within our current licensing basis. This action will be completed by March 1, 1997. A written summary description of the periodic verification program will be submitted in the 180-day reply to GL 96-05.
