Rogers Plant Safety and Licensing Director DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - COMPLETION OF THE INSERVICE INSPECTION OF STEAM GENERATOR TUBES Palisades Technical Specification 4.14.6a requires that within fifteen d*ays following the completion of the ins~rvice inspection of steam generator tubes, the number of tubes plugged in eac~ steam generator shall be rep6rted to the NRC.
On July 3, 1993 the inservice inspettion of the Palisades steam generators was completed. Approximately 20% of the tubes in each steam generator were tested using the bobbin coil test method.
In addition, 200 motorized rotating pancake coil {MRPC) examinations were performed in each steam generator.
As a result of the inservice inspection, one tube was found to be defective and was plugged.
The tube {row 137, line 94) exhibited a 41%
through-wall indication, which exceeded the 40% plugging criteria limit.
In accordance with Palisades Technical Specification 4.14.6b, a complete steam generator inservice inspection report will be provided within 12 months.
