A special safety inspection was conducted at the Palisades site the week of
July 30, 1990 to assess the adequacy of your 10 CFR 50 .59 evaluations i.n
support of the Steam Generator Replacement Project (SGRP).
By letter dated
September 20, 1990, Consumers Power Company responded to the open itt:ms
contained in the inspection report.
The re~ults of the staff r~view o~ your
- response to the inspection report open item-s are provided in the enclosed
Safety Evaluation.
Based on our on-site inspection of the updated facility change-packages,
coupled with our review of your response to Inspection Report 255/90017, the
staff has found that you have adequately addressed the SGRP modifications under
Hmvever, firial acceptabili.ty of the containment structure by the
staff is reserved until we have completed our review of the Structural Integrity
Test Report.
