EDDY CURRENT TESTING ALLEGATION NRC letter dated August 31, 1989 enclosed 10CFR2.790 information concerning an allegation regarding the possible use of unqualified contractor personnel. The letter indicated that some licensees intend to pursue the matter further and the NRC staff has decided to wait 90 days before taking any further action.

Our investigation was performed following the initial notification of the concern by NRC. Our response was provided by letter dated October 14, 1988.

Consumers Power Company found no evidence to substantiate the allegation. We therefore choose not to pursue the matter any further.
