Kenneth W Berry Director Nuclear Licensing WITHDRAWAL OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS CHANGE REQUEST - PRIMARY COOLANT PUMP UPPER FLYWHEEL EXAMINATION WAIVER Consumers Power Company requests withdrawal of -*the Technical Specification Change Request concerning the Primary Coolant Pump Upper Flywheel Examination.
Due to an administrative error, the subject change, submitted on August 19, 1988, was without the required concurrence by the Nuclear Safety Board Chairman.
Subsequent to the submittal, our Nuclear Safety Board determined the change request lacked sufficient technical justification and the 10CFR50.59 evaluation did not properly address the margin of safety.
Although the issues are resolvable, we do not wish to pursue further action on this issue, at thi.s time.
We regret and apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused.
