REVISION 2 TO THE FINAL SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT (FSAR) UPDATE Frederick W Buckman Vice President Nuclear Operations In accordance with 10CFR50.71(e).(ii), enclosed is one original and twelve copies of Revision 2 to the Palisades Plant FSAR Upd~te. This revision is submitted on a replacement-page basis and.includes a list of effective pages of the FSAR Update following page replacement.
Replacement pages containing revisions.include a line vertically drawn in the margin adjacent to the portion actually changed and a change number, ie, "Rev. 2", in the lower right-hand coiner.
To the best ot' my knowledge, this revis.ion accurately.incorporates all changes made to the ~alisades.Plant or to the Palisades Plant procedures described in the FSAR, and all the other applicable information contained in licensing submittals made to the NRC through April, 1986.

provisions of 10CFR50. 59. and reflected in this revision, but not previously submitted to the NRC, are identified as follows:
Changed two sodium analyzers in the turbine plant sample panel to elimi-nate the need to use dimethylene gas, a carcinogenic substance.
Added CCW pumps to Normal Shutdown Sequencers.
Changed Primary Datalogger output device from a paper tape to a magnetic
_. disk or_ paper _tape.
Installed isolation switches for the 1-1 Diesel Generator lC Switchgear.
Addition of Alternate Safe Shutdown Panel 150A.
Changed location and seismic class of Auxiliary Feedwater System backup air supply.

Revised ESF Sump Pumps control circuit to prevent automatic start follow-ing a containment high radiation signal.
Installed 2" Automatic isolation valves on the Safety Injection Tank drain line.
Replaced main turbine thrust bearing trip device.
Changed description of Incore Instrumentation Sheath from 0.311-inch diameter Inconel to nominal diameter stainless steel sheath.
Upgraded electrical qualification status of 16 core exit thermocouples~
Upgraded Primary Coolant System pressure indication to meet Reg Guide 1.97 requirements.
Added status of the Reactor Protective Trip Relays to the Critical Function Monitor.
Presurizer Heater Transformers - wording was misleading, FSAR Update changed to reflect the nominal or rated output in Kw of the pressurizer heaters.
