Director, Nuclear Reactor Regulation US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - NOTIFICATION OF DELAY IN RESPONDING TO.GENERIC LETTER 85-02, "STAFF RECOMMENDED ACTIONS STEMMING FROM NRC INTEGRATED PROGRAM FOR THE RESOLUTION OF UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES REGARDING STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INTEGRITY" Due to problems encountered in receiving NRC Generic Letters at Consumers Power Company, a copy of Generic Letter 85-02 dated April 17, 1985, was finally obtained by the Director of Nuclear Licensing on May 16, 1985.

This problem has been discussed between Mr David VandeWalle of Consumers Power Company and Mr Thomas Wambach of the NRC.

Because of the late receipt of the subject Generic Letter, and the preparation time needed to ensure that our response is of the highest quality, Consumers Power Company commits to submit a response to Generic Letter 85~02 by the end of July, 1985.
