Con~umers Power Company submittal dated January 31, 1985 indicated that we had discovered an error in the software that is being used* to. perform sequence :

quantification relative to the Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) and

.Cost-Benefit Analysis on the actual safety significance of the *two-steam-generator-blowdown event.

We stated that an update of our progress on this*

issue would be submitted by February 28, 1985.

At the present time, the code authors have supplied us with a change to* the computer code in question which was to have corrected the error.

We have found that the error still exists and as a result are looking into using another computer code to perform this analysis.

We do not* have firm dates at thi.s time as to when the final report can be submitted to the NRC, but an *update.of our progress on this issue will be.submitted by.March 29, 1985 Brian D Johnson Staff Licensing *Engineer CC Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement NRC Resident ~nspeGtor - Palisades I
