By letter dated March 31, 1982, Consumers Power Company committed to review procedures and modify as necessary to ensure that operators have guidance for removing rion essential DC loads to extend battery life if conditions warrant.

This commitment was in response to SEP Topic VII-3, Systems Required for Safe Shutdown/Section 4.24.1 of NUREG-0820. The scheduled completion date for this commitment was subsequently modified by our letter of May 11, 1984.

As requested by NUREG-0820, this letter is to inform you of our completion of this commitment. A new Emergency Operating Procedure, EOP-2.1, has been written and implemented to address these concerns.
