DOCKET 50~?5 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT*- CONTAINMENT PURGING AND VENTING Consumers Power Company, in a letter dated August 24, 1982, indicated that a
- .*,.. study to justify unlimited use of the containment purge system would be
- ,submitted to the NRC.
After an evaluation of the need to purge during normal
.operations, Consumers Power Company has decided not to pursue the issue of justifying unlimited or limited use of the' purge system during NORHAL OPERATIONS.
The purge system will only be operated during the COLD SHUTDOWN condition.
NRC letter entitled, "Containment Purging and Venting,"* dated January 26, 1984, requested Consumers Power Company to respond to* specific items pertaining to the Palisades Plant. purge and vent systems.
These items concerned the operation of the purge and vent systems in conditions other than COLD SHUTDOWN.
Based on conversations with the NRC staff, it has been agreed t,hat the information requested by the NRC letter of January 26, 1984 is no longer required.
Consumers Power Company will submit a Technical Specification modification, by April 30, 1984, limiting use of the purge and vent systems to the COLD SHUTDOWN condition.
