SYSTEMATIC EVALUATION PROGRAM - TOPIC VI-4 SECTION 4.20.3, MANUAL ISOLATION VALVE The Systematic Evaluation Program Schedule submitted by Consumers Power Company on March 31, 1982 stated that Topic VI-4 Section 4.20.3 would be completed by the end of the 1983 Refueling Outage.
This topic is concerned with the replacement of the manual isolation valve with an automatic valve in Penetration 44.
The manual valve is currently in series with an air-operated valve.
The automatic valve that was ordered was inspected by quality control and a nonconforming material report was generated containing five (5) nonconformance items.
It is apparent that resolving the nonconformance items will make the valve unavailable for installation during the 1983 Refueling Outage.
As a result of this situation Consumers Power Company requests an extension to SEP Topic VI-4, Section 4.20.3 until the next scheduled refueling outage.
