CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY DOCKET 50-255
--REQUEST FOR CHANGE TO THE TEeHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS LICENSE DPR-20 For the reasons hereinafter set forth, it is requested that the Technical Specifications contained in the Provisional Operating License DPR-20, Docket 50-255, issued to Consumers Power Company on October 16, 1972, for the Palisades Plant be changed as described in Section I below:
I.
CHANGES A.
Replace Section 4.7.1 Item d with the following:
"Diesel generator electric loads shall not be increased beyond the continuous rating of 750 amperes at 2400 volts."
B.
Add the following sentence at the end of the Basis, of Section 4.7:
"The emergency diesel generator limit of 750 amperes at 2400 volts corresponds to the manufacturer's nameplate kVA and kW rating for these machines."

The changes are noted by a vertical line in the right hand margin.
II.
DISCUSSION The above proposed Technical Specifications changes are requested due to the fact that the current wording of Section 4.7.1, Item d does not reflect that the true nameplate rating of the Emergency Diesel Generators.
The proposed change to this item allows these generators to be rated according to the manufacturers nameplate rating, as is described in the proposed addition to the Basis of Section 4.7.
III.
CONCLUSION Based on the foregoing, both the Palisades Plant Review Committee and the Safety and Audit Review Board have reviewed these changes and find them acceptable.
