, provided the status and schedule of Consumers Power Company's continuing efforts to address various NUREG-0737-items. *Upon review of this letter, Consumers Power Company has found that Item II.K. 3. 30 "Revised Small Break Loss of Coolant Accident Methods to Show Compliance with 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix K" had inadvertently been excluded.

II.K.3.30 REVISED SMALL BREAK LOSS OF COOLANT ACCIDENT METHODS TO SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH 10 CFR PART SO, APPENDIX K NRC POSITION

  • 226A The analysis methods used by Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) vendors and/or fuel suppliers for small break Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) analysis for compliance with Appendix K to 10 CFR Part SO should be revised, documented and submitted for NRC approval.

The revisions should account for comparisons with experimental data, including data from the LOFT Test and Semiscale Test facilities.

LICENSEE AGTION As noted in Consumers Power Company letter dated December 19, 1980, we will continue to support the activities of the C-E Owners *Group in their effort to satisfy the requirements of TM! Action Plan, Item II.K.3.30 for C-E designed plants.

Numerous discussions between the NRC and C-E Owners Group have defined specific concerns to be addressed by the C-E Owners Group.

The C-E Owners Group is conducting the activities necessary to respond to these concerns and expects to submit the results to the NRC by March 31, 1982.
