EQUIPMENT NRC letter dated December 23, 1977 requested Consumers Power Company to address questions pertaining to the Environmental Qualifications (EEQ) of Safety-Related Electrical Equipment for the Palisades Plant.
The scope of these questions revolved around identification of the electrical equipment required to perform safety functions while being subjected to design basis accident environments.
This information was transmitted to you by letters dated February 24, 1978, April 6, 1978, April 12, 1978 and November 30, 1978.
Later, NRG letters dated February 15, 1980 transmitted NRG Guidelines for Electrical Equipment Environmental Qualification, dated March 6, 1980 and
.March 28, 1980*provided schedules for responding to the EEQ topic.
An.Order modifying the Palisades Plant License, requiring submittal of Environmental Qualification Information for Electrical Equipment, w.as issued by the NRG on August 29, 19~0. That Order was revised and reissued on September 19, 1980.
The revised Order will remain as part of the Palisades Plant*Operating License until the NRG is satisfied the information provided addresses their concerns for the Environmental Qualification of Electrical Equipment.
