Oil and Grease Daily Maximum Limitation of 20 mg/I

Description of Incident:

On 7/11/80, oil was detected in the turbine sump oil separator tank and was measured at 35.3 mg/I.

Oil appeared to be in a nonemulsified form and probably was of a short duration.

Apparent Cause:

Various systems in the turbine building were still being cleaned out following the oil spill on 7/2/80.

It is possible that the filter el~ments of the turbine building oil water separator were overloaded.

Corrective Action - The following corrective action was taken or will be taken to reduce, e.liminate and prevent recurrence:

The oil separator was drained and the filters were changed.
