  • Between the ET Instrurrents and the eddy current probe are two (2) 160 ft. probe extension cables that connect to a y-spliter box that is located on the SM-6unit.

The probe cable that can be seen.on the SM-6 drum is constructed of a braided, stainless steel material with a plastic type liner on the** inside. Also, the probe cable has epoxy injected every foot alorig the length that will hold the eddy current wires stationary.

  1. 1 is an*absolute pancake coil that is used to evaluate the defects within-the tubing. Coil #2 is* a 3600 absolute coil that is used for locating the support elevation that requires inspection. The probe also contains*a lcx::k nut to ensure that it does not become detached from the.

probe cable. To allow the probe to turn with rrore freedom ihside the tube, rotating nylon sleeves with. rubb& feet were used.* i*
