Initial SER issued; open items being resolved for SER supplement The Palisades Fire Protection SER was issued with Item 3.2, Fire Brigade Size, as an incomplete item.
Resolution of this item required our evaluation of infonnation provided by the licensee in a letter dated September 15, 1978 in response to a staff position. Consumers Power Company also indicated that this infonnation relative to fire brigade size also applied to Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Plant.
Our evaluation of Item 3.2 is enclosed.
We have detennined that the licensee's proposed fire brigade organization is inadequate and that the licensee should be requested to commit to the enclosed staff position.
Our evaluation of the infonnation relating to SER Item 3.2 and the associated staff position should be transmitted to the licensee.
