Subject:

Lost Tritiated Exit Signs Discussion: On 12/26/17, at 08: 10, I left a message for Mr. Betoney to call me back. I spoke with Mr. Betoney at 09:35. He stated that he had no additional information. He was not able ascertain the model number or amount of tritium in the signs. He further stated that the signs were ten-year signs likely installed about November 2007; but, he has not been able to determine the name of the contractor that installed the signs. I informed Mr. Betoney that I would check into NRC databases and get back in touch with him. At 10:35, I left a message for Celimar Valentin-Rodriguez (301-415-7124) to call me back regarding generally-licensed devices installed at the Dept. of the Army in Carlisle, PA.

(1/2/18; 08:45) I spoke with Mr. Betoney and informed him that my search of the records indicated that Emergi-Lite installed the signs on or about January 4, 2008, Model No.

WSLX-1061R with 7.5 curies of initial activity. Mr. Betoney stated that he would get back to me after he went over his records. (1/4/18; 12:35) I provided the information to Ms.

Valentin-Rodriguez and she indicated that she would get back to me after checking GLTS.

(1/ /18; ) Ms. Valentin-Rodriguez sent an e-mail indicating that there were no additional signs on record distributed to Department of the Army or to the Carlisle Barracks. She did find records regarding the transfer of generally-licensed chemical/explosive detectors.

(1/9/18; 12:21) Mr. Betoney called and requested any information we may have gathered on the signs. (1/10/18; 08:00) I returned Mr. Betoney's call, provided him with what information we were able to obtain, and stated that a letter documenting our efforts would be forthcoming.
