SUBJECT: WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION - RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF
VIOLATION (NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000482/2017490)
Dear Mr. Heflin:
On December 20, 2017, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cited Wolf Creek
Nuclear Operating Corporation for a security-related violation that occurred at your Wolf Creek
Generating Station that the NRC determined to be of Greater than Green significance. The
Notice of Violation, enclosed with Inspection Report 05000482/2017490 (Agencywide
Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML17354A040),
required you to respond in writing within 30 days. You responded by letter, dated January 18,
2018. In your letter, you included security-related information that will be withheld from public
disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice and Procedure.
We have reviewed your response and find that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. The
NRC will review your corrective actions during a future inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for
public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from ADAMS, which is accessible from
the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading
Room).
