52i AND 68 - LZCENSEE EVENT REPORT 50-296/94002 The enclosed voluntary report concerns a deficiency regarding Raychem tubing used for environmental qua'lification applications.
The tubing is used to insulate the splice connection of cables.
During. installation, the tubing could not be shrunk down to provide a proper seal per the vendor specifications.
This condition is not reportable per 10 'CFR 50.72, '50.73, or Part,21.
- However,,
because the deficiency may apply to Raychem tubing used by other utilities, TVA is submitting this as a voluntary report.
