UNITS 1i 2 i AND 3 - NRC GENERIC LETTER (GL) 94-02'ONG-TERM SOLUTIONS AND UPGRADE OF INTERIM OPERATING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THERMAL-HYDRAULIC INSTABILITIES IN BOILING WATER REACTORS - COMPLETION OF REQUESTED ACTION 1I INTERIM CORRECTIVE ACTIONS In TVA's September 8,
1994, letter to NRC, TVA provided its response to NRC GL 94-02 for all three BFN units.
In that letter, in response to NRC Requested Action 1, TVA committed to modify BFN operating procedures and training programs to make them consistent with, or more conservative than, the Boiling Water Reactor Owners Group (BWROG) Guidelines for Stability Interim Corrective Action.
TVA also stated that it would notify NRC within 30 days of the completion of these procedural and training upgrades.
The purpose of this letter is to inform NRC that TVA has modified BFN training programs to make them consistent with, or more conservative than, the interim BWROG guidelines.
TVA has also modified Unit 2 operating procedures to make them consistent with, or more conservative than, the interim BWROG guidelines.
The training program upgrades, procedure revisions, and necessary training were completed November 25, 1994.
Revisions to Units 1 and 3 operating procedures, and necessary training on the procedure revisions, will be completed prior to each respective unit's restart.
