inspect the licensed operator requalification program at the

Browns Ferry

Nuclear

Power Station Units 1, 2,and 3.

The inspection will be led by

Hr. George

T. Hopper.

The inspection is planned for your regularly scheduled

requalification examination cycle which Hr. Hill confirmed begins the week of

November

14,

1994.

Please

inform Hr. Hopper of any changes

to this schedule.

The staff at your facility should prepare

and conduct the requalification

examinations

in accordance

with your NRC-approved requalification program.

In

accordance

with 10

CFR 55.59(c),

the

NRC may request facility licensees

to

submit their comprehensive

requalification written examinations

or annual

operating tests

as necessary

to support the NRC's inspection

program needs.

In order for the

NRC to adequately

prepare for this inspection,

please

furnish

an examination

schedule test matrix for the weeks of November

14 and 28,

1994,

to the

NRC by October 31,

1994.

This test matrix should include,

by week:

(1) the

name of each licensed operator

being examined,

(2) the license held,

(3) whether he/she

is part of an operating shift or a staff member,

(4) the

Job Performance

Measures

each will be given,

(5) the dynamic simulator

scenarios

each will'e given,

and

(6) the Sample

Plan

used to develop the

examination.

Also, please

provide

a copy of the most recent revision of the

documents listed in the Enclosure.

Mr. Hill was informed of these

examination

information and training material

requirements.

The request for requalification examination material is covered

by Office of

Management

and Budget

(OMB) Clearance

Number 3150-0101,

which expires

on

October 31,

1995.
