REVISIONS 16 AND 17 TO RADIOLOGICAL EMERGENCY PLAN FOR BROWNS FERRY AND SEqUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANTS, DOCKET NOS. 50-259, 50-260, 50-296, 50-327, AND 50-328 Based on our review of the subject submittals, we have concluded that the changes therein meet the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50.
During a telephonic discussion on September 1,
1994 between J.
Kreh of my staff and T. Adkins of your staff, it was agreed that several minor inconsistencies and errors previously noted in our review of Revision 15 to your Radiological Emergency Plan would be corrected in Revision 18, which is due to be issued on or about September 30, 1994. If your understanding of this commitment is different from that documented
- here, you should contact this office immediately.
Please be reminded that 10 CFR 50.54(q) requires that proposed changes which decrease the effectiveness of your Radiological Emergency Plan may not be implemented without application to and approval by the Commission.
- However, changes may be made without Commission approval if such changes do not decrease the effectiveness of the Plan, and the Plan, as changed, continues
.to meet the standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50. If a change is made without approval, you should furnish copies in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q).
Also, any changes to the Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures should be made in accordance with the requirements of Appendix E to 10 CFR Part 50.
