NO. 292 REVISION TO FIRE PUMP SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.4 and 50.90, we are submitting a 'request for an amendment to licenses DPR-33, DPR-52, and DPR-68..to..change the BFN Technical Specifications for units 1, 2, and 3 (Encl'osure 1). This proposed amendment revises the surveillance requirements for flow and head for the electric and diesel-driven fire pumps based on a calculation of actual water demand.

A summary of the, proposed changes is provided by Enclosure 2. The reason and justification for the proposed changes is provided by Enclosure 3. A proposed determination of no significant hazards consideration is provided by Enclosure 4. The new pump values are adequate for unit 2 operation with units 1 and 3 shutdown. Enclosure 5 documents TVA's commitment to review and reconfirm the adequacy of the unit 1 and 3 pump values prior to restart of those units. TVA requests that these changes be made effective 30 days after approval by NRC.
