In the Matter of Tennessee Valley Authority Docket Nos. 50-260 BROMNS PERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) UNIT 2 TVA BFN TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION NO. 249 APPENDIX R SAFE SHUTDOWN EQUIPMENT In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.4 and 50.90, we are submitting a request for an amendment to license DPR-52 to change the BFN Technical Specifications for unit. 2 (enclosure 1).
This proposed change addresses updating and adding technical specifications for Appendix R safe shutdown equipment.
Implementation of these technical specifications ensure that the appropriate equipment required for plant safe shutdown is protected in the event of a fire.
This amendment has been identified as a restart requirement.
Also contained within these proposed technical specifications are the diesel generator technical specifications (TS 231) which were submitted to you on April 13, 1988.
The diesel generator submittal resulted from Generic Letter 84-15, "Proposed Staff Actions to Improve and Maintain Diesel Generator Reliability."
For purposes of this submittal, we are considering TS 231 to be approved.
Description, reason for change, and justification in support of the proposed changes are enclosed (enclosure 2).
A proposed determination of no significant hazards consideration is provided in enclosure 3.
