20555 Gentlemen:

In the Hatter of Tennessee Valley Authority Docket No. 50-260 BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST FOR APPENDIX J LEAK RATE TESTING TEMPORARY EXEMPTIONS In our letter of November 20,

1985, TVA requested temporary exemptions to the 10 CFR 50, Appendix J, testing requirements for the startup from the'nit 2-cycle 6 refueling outage.

The intent at that time was to perform plant modifications to meet the requirements of Appendix J before the startup from unit 2-cycle 7 refueling outage.

As a result of the current extended

outage, the modifications will be completed before restart of unit 2.

The temporary exemptions requested in the referenced letter are no longer necessary and are hereby withdrawn from NRC consideration.

If you have any questions regarding this submittal, please telephone J.

E. East at (205) 729-3585.

Very truly yours, TENNE SEE EY AUTHORITY g
