A. Wh-'I.e dated March 3, 1987, "NRC Comments to Browns Ferry Unit 2 Restart Test Program Plan" The October 7,
1986 submittal of the Restart Test Program contains, the essence of the restart test program to be utilized at BFN.
A resubmittal of the program is believed warranted because of refinements in the program formally presented to NRC on March 12, 1987, at Browns Ferry.
Additionally, lessons learned from the recent restart of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Plant will be incorporated into the Browns Ferry Restart Program.
In order to reduce NRC review time of the resubmitted Restart Test Program
- Plan, changes from the October 7,
1986 submittal will be addressed in an appendix of the submittal.
Another appendix of this submittal will contain TVA's responses to NRC formal comments on the October 7, 1986 submittal.
The time require'd for the resubmittal of the plan and appendices will exceed the current required due date of April 3, 1987.
TVA requests an extension to May 4, 1987, for submitting the information required by reference 2 and the refined Restart Test Program.
This issue was discussed with Al Ignatonis in a telephone call on March 20, 1987.
