Dear Mr. Hill:
The purpose of this letter is to update the membership list of U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff participating in committee meetings of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME B&PV Code),Section III. The NRC has recently sent several nomination letters for the ASME B&PV Code,Section III Division 5 committees. Although the NRC nominated several new members consistent with our normal process, the formal status of the existing NRC members on the committees may not have been apparent.
Enclosed is an update of the NRC membership on several Section III, Division 5 committees, as well as an update of several Section III, Division 1 committees. For the committees listed in the enclosure, all previous NRC representatives that had been designated should be removed from the rosters for those committees. The only NRC staff members for the committees should be the listed members.
The enclosure also includes listing of committees alternates. The NRC has identified alternates for these committees so that ASME will recognize them as official NRC representatives. These individuals are actively involved with review of the ASME B&PV Code, and we request that they be given access to C&S Connect. The NRC acknowledges that only one of the identified members or alternates will vote on any particular action going through a committee.
Some of the NRC representatives and alternates have not previously been nominated by the NRC for these committees. Attachment 1 to the enclosure contains the nominations for these NRC staff.
