C The Pennsylvania Power and Light Company (the applicant) is currently planning to construct a 230-acve r eservoiv to be operated in conjunction with the applicant's Susquehanna Steer E'lectric Station neav Bardwick, Pennsylvania, to satisfy the requirements of '10 CFR Section 803.6'l low flo ~ augmentation established by the Susquehanna River Basin Comission.

The selected site fov the proposed reservoiv ij located about seven miles novtheast of the borough of Bewick and one mile south of the vi'l'lage of l)acanaqua in Conyngham Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, A map showing the location of the resecvoir is enclosed.

This letter constitutes a fomal request for consultation with, and the assistance of'he Deparbaent of the Interior in furtherance of t)>e purposes of the 1978 amndnents to tfie Endangered Species Act.

Pursuant to Section 7(c) of the Act, please foulard information as to whether anj plants and antrnials that ave listed or proposed to be listed as endangered or threatened species may be present in the vicinity of the proposed vesevvoir.site discussed above.
