In the Matter of the Tennessee Valley Authority Docket Nos.
50-259 50-260 50-296 By your letter to H.
G. Parris dated July 22,
- 1985, we received a request for additional information regarding TVA license amendment request TVA BFNP TS 107, dated February 25, 1985.
That request proposed deletion of technical specifications regarding Residual Heat Removal (RHR) System interunit crosstie capabili.ty.
At the time of the submi.ttal, unit 3 startup was planned for the near future.
One of the RHR crosstie pumps on unit 2 was inoperable at, the t,ime and, therefore, a technical specification change was required to allow resumption of operation.
The unit, 3 startup was subsequently delayed.
A technical specification change is not required to support the startup of unit. 2.
Consequently, we hereby withdraw our February 25, 1985 request for a technical specification change.
Me are, however, still interested in pursuing, this mattex, though not on a priority basis.
Me are currently assessing the resources needed to provide additional justification for relaxation of the RHR crossti.e LCOs. If we decide to resubmit the technical specifi.cations at a later date, we will addxess the July 22, 1985 request for additi.onal information.
