50-260 In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Parts 50.59 and 50.90, we are enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to license DPR-52, to change the technical specifications of Br owns Ferry Nuclear Plant unit 2 (enclosure 1).
The enclosed technical specifications are needed to accommodate unit 2 cycle 6
oper ation and to reflect plant modifications to be performed during the refueling outage.
Description and justification for the proposed changes are provided as enclosure 2.
Included in the description is General Electric report "Bottled-up Operation of a BWR," NED0-20697, dated November 1974.
Also included is the reload licensing report for unit 2 cycle 6 documenting core loading and analyses performed, TVA-RLR-002.
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91(a)( 1) the determination of no significant hazards consideration is provided as enclosure 3.
The enclosed technical specification revisions are being reviewed concurrently by the Browns Ferry Nuclear Safety Review Board.
Browns Ferry unit 2 is scheduled to complete the cycle 5 outage and to start cycle 6 operation in early January 1985.
We, therefore, request NRC staff approval of the enclosed license amendment request by December 18, 1984.
Enclosed is a check for the
$ 150 amendment fees required by 10 CFR Part 170.12.
