Dear Mr. Mosley:
I am responding to your letter dated November 9, 2017, which requested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approve a new Truck Route designated as No. 257 for transporting spent nuclear fuel from Idaho National Laboratory, Scoville, Idaho, to the U.S.
Geological Survey, Denver, Colorado.
The NRC has reviewed your application and concluded that the information you provided on November 9, 2017, with commitments made for correcting minor edits during a conference call on January 23, 2018, satisfies the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Paragraph 73.37. This letter constitutes approval. The approved route is designated as Truck Route No. 257, and will expire February 28, 2023. The NRC expects your periodic review and update of the emergency phone numbers associated with this route. Changes to emergency contact numbers do not qualify as a route deviation or change.
