50-259 50-260 50-296 In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50.59, we are enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to licenses DPR-33, DPR-52, and DPR-68 to change the technical specifications of Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant units 1, 2, and 3 (Enclosure 1).
Documentation of the need and Justification for the proposed changes are also provided (Enclosure 2).
These proposed changes olarify radiation monitoring requirements and remove a redundant limit for spent fuel storage.
The change to the spent fuel storage technical specifications is needed to accommodate storage of some lead test assemblies.
Delivery of these assemblies is expected in early August.
We, therefore, need approval of these changes by August 1,
1981.
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 170.22, we have determined this proposed amendment to be Class II for unit 1 and Class I for units 2 and 3.
These classifications are based on the facts that the proposed amendment is an administrative change that has no safety significance for unit 1, and the proposed amendments for units 2 and 3
are duplicates of the unit 1 proposed amendment.
The remittance for 42,000 (41,200 for unit 1 and
$800 for units 2 and 3) is being wired to the NRC, Attention:
Licensing Fee Management Branoh.
