Dear Sir or Madam:
The Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Sandia Field Office (SFO) has accepted the above-referenced funding document subject to the terms and conditions described herein. The referenced proposal has been reviewed and found acceptable by DOE. Commencement of the referenced work will be contingent upon a DOE-approved National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) determination.
Funds have been certified a_s available for placement under Contract DE-NA0003525 with National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC for performance of the referenced project as reimbursable work on a noninterference basis with DOE-funded programs. By copy of this letter, performance of the work is authorized subject to the above contingency since a valid budgetary resource has been reflected in the current contract modification or will be reflected in the next scheduled contract modification for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC.
Consistent with DOE's full cost recovery policy, DOE collects, as part of its standard indirect cost rate, a Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LORD) cost. Based on the amount of funds being accepted for this project, $26,213.59 represents the estimated amount that will be used for LORD efforts. DOE believes that LORD efforts provide opportunities in research that are instrumental in maintaining cutting-edge science capabilities that benefit all of the customers at the Laboratory. The Department will conclude that by providing funds to DOE to perform work, you acknowledge that such activities are beneficial to your organization and consistent with Appropriation Acts that provide funds to you.
The referenced project shall be performed under the aforementioned operating contract; the U.S. Economy Act of 1932, as amended; and in accordance with other applicable laws and regulations, if applicable or as noted in the attached funding document. Billing for this work will be done in accordance with current DOE policies.
Should additional funding be required to complete the project, you will be notified as to the amount and date
