Dear Mr. Grier:

As'reported in the above referenced letter, Bechtel engineering has been conducting an ongoing review of pipe support design documents to cover all

force, momerit calculations and their related pipe support details.

The Unit 1 verification program for the twenty-six (26) Reactor Pressure Vessel filland flush systems is basically complete with the exception of several isometrics that are on hold.

The Unit 1 program is scheduled for completion in April, 1980.

The Unit 2 verification program does not appear as extensive as Unit 1 and, consequently, is expected to be fully completed by June, 1980.

Progress in completing these activities has been slower than anticipated.

Delays in the completion of the overall verification program can be attributed to the increased scope of the evaluation program, unavailability of manpower, and our initial underestimation of the effort which has been and continues to be required.

Our latest projection for the completion and submittal of a final report is late July, 1980.
