As requested by your application dated June 15, 2017 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML17347A872), enclosed is Certificate of Compliance No. 9792, Revision No. 10, for the Model No. Model 1 D1G Core Basket-Thermal Shield Shipping and Storage Container. Changes made to the enclosed certificate are indicated by vertical lines in the margin. The staff's safety evaluation report is also enclosed.
The approval constitutes authority to use the package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of 49 CFR 173.471.

Naval Reactors did not request any changes to the package design or authorized contents. In addition, no changes to the current operating procedures, acceptance tests, or maintenance programs have been requested. The staff reviewed the applicable documents referenced in the certificate of compliance and determined that the documentation was available and complete.
CONDITIONS The expiration date in Condition No. 9 was extended for an additional 5-year term ending on January 31, 2023.
CONCLUSION Certificate of Compliance No. 9792 has been renewed for a period of 5 years ending on January 31, 2023. There were no changes that affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
