SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF LICENSEE PERFORMANCE (SALP)
Oear Mr. Plunkett:
We commend you and your staff for the continued superior level of performance at Turkey Point plant, Units 3 and 4, in all SALP functional areas for the second consecutive period.
As a result of your superior level of safety performance, your current SALP period is scheduled for 24 months.
This is conditional upon continued superior performance.
In addition, your facility will receive an appropriate level of reduced NRC inspection that is reflective of your performance.
It should be realized that inspection hours may already have been reduced in the areas that received a category I rating in ear lier SALP cycles.
The greatest challenge that you and your staff now face is to sustain this superior level of performance and not to become complacent.
Continued management involvement and support, and dedicated efforts from your staff to identify and promptly correct problems are necessary for you to continue to meet this difficult challenge.
