SUBJECT:

TURKEY POINT UNITS 3 AND 4,NRC BULLETIN 90-01, SUPPLEMENT 1, LOSS OF FILL OIL IN TRANSMITTERS MANUFACTURED BY ROSEHOUNT (TACs H85454 AND M85455)

Dear Hr. Goldberg:

By letters dated March 3,

1993, Hay 17, 1993 and April 13, 1994; you responded to NRC Bulletin 90-01, Supplement 1.

The staff, with the assistance of its contractor, EGRE Idaho, Inc., reviewed your submittals and finds your response acceptable.

The enclosed Safety Evaluation documents our review and concurrence with the contractor's findings presented in Technical Evaluation Report (TER),

EGG-DNSP-1487, which.is also enclosed.

Please note that the TER states that you should include additional transmitters in classification 1.f to maintain confidence in their ability to detect impending failures.

This concludes our review of this issue

and, accordingly, we are closing TAC Nos.

M85454 and H85455.

Sincerely, (Original Signed By)

Richard P. Croteau, Project Manager Project Directorate II-2 Division of Reactor Projects - I/II Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos.
