Dear Mr. Goldberg:
SUBJECT:
TURKEY POINT UNITS 3 AND 4 CONTAINMENT TENDON SURVEILLANCE PROGRAM (TAC NO. M84101)
On August 10,
- 1993, you responded to our 'request for additional information concerning the 20th year tendon surveillance program for Turkey Point Units 3
and 4.
The information provided was reviewed and we find your program acceptable.
This completes our action on TAC No. M84101.
In your response you indicated that you are performing a re-analysis of the containment structures using the existing design basis, including a design pressure of 55 psig.
As a result of the re-analysis, you plan to provide a
systematic schedule for retensioning of tendons so that you can demonstrate the adequacy of the containment tendons to withstand the postulated design-basis accidents throughout the licensed lives of the plant units.
This re-analysis is scheduled for completion prior to the Twenty-Fifth Year Tendon Surveillance.
We understand that completion of the containment re-analysis is expected in'early 1995.
Please forward this analysis to us for review when it is completed.
If you have any questions about this matter, please contact me at 301-504-1481.
