G. Lainas, Chief, Plant Systems. Branch, Division of Operating Reactors

SUBJECT:

TURKEY POINT UNITS 3 AND 4 - CHANGE OF NLOH-LOW STEAM GENERATOR l(ATER LEVEL" -REACTOR TRIP SETPOINT (TACS 12535 AND 12536)

In accordance with your request per TACS 12535 and 12536, we have reviewed the Florida Power and Light Company's request to change the "low-low generator water level" reactor trip setpoint for the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, Units 3 and 4.

The proposed change would increase the minimum stepoint from 5A to 155 of the nareow range instrument. scale and, therefore, compensate for temperature effects on the steam generator level measurement reference leg resulting from high energy line breaks inside containment.

Based on our review, we conclude that".the proposdd modifications.to.the Technical Specifications are acceptable.

Our Safety Evaluation,is enclosed.
