Dear Lawton:
Back in 1977 I wro'.e to you'on several occasions about the problems at Turkey Point.
Since that time, the problems have persisted and we have now gotten reports from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission re-garding their visits to Turkey Point. I note that during the period we were complaining, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission visited Turkey Point many, many times.
In fact, visits by the inspectors totalled'4 and ranged from one-day visits to one-week visits.
I wish to bring to your attention that even though they are watching the situation, several problems are beginning to exist and it willmake the Three Mile Island incident look like a "peanut" if compared.to what wi11 happen at Turkey Point.
I am sorry that it is necessary to bring this. information to you and your good offices, but something has to be done.
Very tr y
