DONALDC. COOK NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 - WITHDRAWALOF AN AMENDMENTREQUEST TO TO CHANGE ACCUMULATORFILL (TAC NOS. M99496AND M99497)
Dear Mr. Powers:
By letter dated August 11, 1997, you applied for an amendment to the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-58 and DPR-74. The proposed change would have modified the facilitytechnical specifications to allow fillingof the emergency core cooling system (ESSC) accumulators without declaring the ECCS equipment inoperable.
Subsequently, you determined that you would not pursue this issue; and, in a telephone conversation on December 11,1998, between Mr. Gordon Arent of your staff and me, you explained that you planned to withdraw the amendment.
Unless you notify us by January 11, 1999, that this is incorrect, we willconsider the application as withdrawn and willfile a Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication and close this action.
