Cook Nuclear Plant.
Section 3.2 to part II of appendix B
(environmental technical specifications) to facility operating licenses DPR-58 and DPR-74 requires that changes and additions to the NPDES permit be reported to the NRC.
In a letter dated October 19,
- 1998, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality was notified of a
request to use a
new

Dear Mr. Leep:
As required by Part I.A.1.d and Part II.A.1.2 of the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit No. MI0005827, we are requesting approval to use Bioprime Corporation's product Dosfolate to enhance the operation of our Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBR) wastewater treatment plant. This plant effluent discharges from the wastewater treatment plant to Outfall 00E to the ground via two sewage infiltration lagoons.
We request the authorization to add Dosfoiate to the SBR to achieve a Dosfoiatr concentration of up to 0.5 mg/I per day. For example, for flows of 20,000 gallons per day, we would add 38 ml of Dosfolate per day. The Dosfolate addition rates willbe adjusted proportionally to the influent flow rates.
The Dosfolate solution should not be discharged in any significant quantity in the effluent as it is being added to aid in the settling process and should be utilized by the wastewater microorganisms.
A Material Safety Data Sheet is enclosed for your information. DosfoIatr is an aqueous solution of 25-30% folicacid, and <1% molybdenum.
