SEVERE ACCIDENT MANAGEMENT REVISED IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE Engineering resources previously assigned to Severe Accident Management Guidelines (SAMGs) development have been re-assigned to support restart'ctivi'tie's"'for both units.

Therefore, development of the SAMGs has been delayed.

The purpose of this letter is to advise you that we are extending the SAMGs implementation until December 31, 1999.

It is still our intent to implement the formal industry position on severe accident management.

The industry position was approved in a letter dated November 21,

1994, by the Nuclear Energy Institute's nuclear strategic issues advisory committee.
