REQUEST TO EXTEND IMPLEMENTATION DATE FOR TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AMENDMENTS 216 AND 200

ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS RE: BORIC ACID CONCENTRATION REDUCTION (TAC NOS.
M94940 AND M94941)", dated August 7, 1997.
The referenced letter transmitted unit 1 technical specification (T/S) amendment 216 and unit 2 T/S amendment 200.
The amendments for both units increase the minimum borated water volume in the boric acid storage system and decrease the required boron concentration.
These amendments were to be implemented when required plant modifications were completed, but no later than August 31, 1998.
Because of outage related activities, the required system modifications willnot be completed by August 31, 1998.
Therefore, it will not be possible to implement the T/S amendments by that date.
We request that the implementation date be extended to December 31, 1999.
